Meet Cyntia, Kopela Health Founder
Dr. Cyntia Onuoha-Brown, PharmD, Kopela Health Founder
I fell in love with women’s health as a longtime sufferer of reproductive and fertility issues myself. My problems began early: I was 8 years old when I had my first period, a medical condition called “pernicious puberty”. Not only was this distressing, but it was extremely ostracising because I was experiencing major bodily changes too soon.
This was the beginning of years of hormonal issues that caused ovarian cysts, weeks of bleeding, and painful periods that made me fearful of my ability to conceive or sustain a pregnancy.
At 26 I took charge of my health because I desperately wanted a baby someday. I used the lessons taught to me in pharmacy school to tackle my ovarian cysts and heavy menstrual bleeding, diabetes, hypertension, joint pain, and sleep apnea. I did all of this in one year and balanced my hormone levels.
I’m proud to say I could carry a baby to term and I’m now a mother!
I never want another woman to feel as helpless as I did.
If my story sounds like yours
